Prime Minister Carney visits Red Deer

Red Deer Mayor Cindy Jefferies welcomes Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta premier Danielle Smith on July 29th. PM Carney announced the Canada-Alberta Housing Infrastructure Fund Agreement.

The agreement will allow Alberta municipalities to access a $510 million slice of the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund (CHIF) over eight years. The fund is for housing-enabling water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Red Deer will get to keep and use $3 million it received from the federal government last year through the Housing Accelerator Fund.
