The World Cup of Hockey 2028 is expected to generate more than $375 million in economic impact, support over 42,000 jobs, and deliver nearly 172,000 hotel night stays.
The World Cup of Hockey 2028 will be the largest international sport event hosted in Alberta since the 1988 Winter Olympics.
The tournament will take place in February 2028 and will feature 17 games in total.
Scotia Place in Calgary will host six round-robin games and one elimination game,
Rogers Place in Edmonton will host 2 semi-finals and the championship game.
Prague, Czechia will be the European host city for the tournament, hosting 7 games.
The bid was selected over 12 other North American locations.
The 2028 tournament will be the fourth World Cup of Hockey, following events in 1996, 2004 and 2016.
